Background
BJK was established in 1997 by former Tiger Brands South Africa Procurement Manager Brendhan 'Jock' Kannemeyer.
The company was established in collaboration with Tiger Brands to act as an out-sourced Procurement Agency specialising in sourcing critical ingredients for several of the Tiger Group’s factories.
A rapid transformation from agent to fully fledged supplier to the Tiger Group took place over the next three years with BJK investing in cold storage facilities, refrigeration equipment, warehousing and vehicles thus broadening our scope of activities and entrenching our position in the supply chain.
This same specialised purchasing concept and continuous investment into supply chain infrastructure provides for a complete supply chain management service that has allowed BJK to expand its services to several other large South African manufacturers including Nestle, MARS, Bokomo, Nola and many others.

BJK Head Office
Our head office is located in The Terraces at Steenberg Office Park, Tokai, Cape Town.
BJK Cold Storage
Our primary cold storage business with a capacity of 1300 tons is based in Montague Gardens. We have two purpose-built 16-ton vehicles dedicated to our Western Cape distribution.
BJK Pretoria
Our facilities in Pretoria include BJK offices, a 250-ton cold store, and three warehouses with a total floor space of 1500m2. We have two purpose-built 8-ton vehicles dedicated to our Gauteng distribution.
Cold Storage and Distribution
Our facilities in Cape Town (1300-ton capacity) and Pretoria (250-ton capacity) are dedicated to the storage of our customers' frozen raw materials. Our services include:- Bulk off-loading, palletising, weighing, labelling and stretch wrapping;
- Incoming inspection reports and detailed quality assessments per consignment;
- Removal of all packaging and 100% visual inspection prior to despatch;
Warehousing and Distribution
Our three warehouse facilities in Pretoria, with a total floor space of 1500m2 are dedicated to the storage of dry and liquid ingredients destined for delivery to our customers.Delivery is guaranteed on schedule by dedicated BJK vehicles.
Supply Chain Management
BJK currently manages an imports portfolio of approximately 130 x 20 foot containers per month.This, together with our domestic portfolio, gives BJK a monthly distribution of approximately 3500 tons of frozen, liquid and dry ingredients and approximately 3.8 million glass Food Jars.
Quality Meat Meals for Dry Pet Food and Aqua Feed production.
The BJK brand is packed by only the very best international producers. Products include Chicken, Turkey, Pork, Beef, Tuna, Salmon and Lamb Meals, Speciality Blood Products including Plasma, Haemoglobin and whole blood products.
Quality Frozen Meat for use in canned and sachet Pet Food production.
BJK frozen meats are packed by only the very top local and international producers. Products include a wide range of Beef, Pork, Lamb, Poultry and Fish.
Quality Glass Jars for food, baby food, pharmaceutical and beverage production.
As the South African agent for Bangkok Glass of Thailand, BJK is providing South African manufactures with up to 45 million Food Jars per annum.
